My blog’s name, rootedonthevine.com was taken from this verse. I have chosen this as the life verse of my site for I know that without God, I can’t reach my God-given potential, and there is nothing I can do that would have any spiritual value if I don’t completely abide with the Father.
I created this blog that deals with self-care integrated with biblical principles for I want to impart to others that self-care is not selfishness, but an act of honor and worship to God. The Bible says that “by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2)
The Lord has given us a precious gift – the gift of life. Let us show him our gratitude by taking good care of ourselves. We should not use our body contrary to what the Bible says. We should give the care and attention it deserves, and not be wasted so we can fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.
Each of us is born with a specific gift and assignment. You might have a gift of teaching, of knowledge, a gift of faith or a gift of healing. (I Corinthians 12:4-11) Whatever it might be, use it to further God’s Kingdom. We need to look up and always obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit and walk in step with Him each day. In that way, we are slowly being conformed to Christ’s likeness that you become a beacon of light that it shows on the outside.
It is my hope and prayer that through this blog, you will be able to discern and fulfill your calling and hear the Lord’s commendation, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21)
